Logan Temple Pictures

There is a sweet photographer up in Logan and serves missionaries by taking pictures of them once a month at the temple.  She posts it on Facebook and whoever shows up during the time, she'll take his/her picture and send them a file.  Mom happen to see the post on FB and Malena went over to have some taken.  

 Mom hurried and mailed Malena the flag for the pictures, so the lady wanted a picture with the envelope.

They turned out great.  We are so grateful for people who love the missionaries and serve in such a unique way!

Ties to Texas!

Malena's great great grandpa, Royal Beckstead, also served his mission in Texas.  He left Utah for Texas on March 24, 1924.  He left behind his young wife, a daughter, and another daughter that was born 2 months after he left.  When his two years were up, the Mission President asked him to stay for 2 more months to finish a project, which he did.  He wrote about his love for Texas and the people there.  We are excited Malena gets to follow in his footsteps, and know he'll be watching over her while she is there in the place he loved so much.

His mission pictures:

 Malena's 2nd cousin, Hadley, was also called to the Texas Fort Worth Mission, and she goes the same day as Malena.  They met yesterday and are excited to have a tie to home with each other.  Great Grandma Silcox told them that her dad, Royal Beckstead, served there also.  We are so happy these two girls get to serve together, and have a little bit of family while they are out there.  It was Great Grandma's 92nd birthday.

 

1st Temple Trip

Malena decided she wanted to go thru the Laie Temple while we were in Hawaii.  It was a wonderful experience.  The Sisters were so nice in the temple and made her feel so loved.  It's such a beautiful temple with a beautiful spirit.  

 It was such a nice to have the 5 of us together in the temple. 

 When we got home we went to the Provo City Center temple with Grandma Munoa, Grandma and Grandpa McKee, Timberly and Braxton, Brooke and Jaxon, Aunt Candy.  That is a beautiful temple.  and We are so  blessed to have so much family and friends who support Malena.
